Little Feet

September 1, 2017

I have visions of little yellow rain boots

Jumping their way through the puddles

Making little ripples in the little lakes

That have began to cover the pavement

I hear the pitter patter of rain

See it sliding down the window pane

Into the ground beneath her feet

As she jumps up and down in the water

A constant rhythm and motion

It makes me sick

As she jumps up and down in those puddles

Unaware of the world around her

That’s been dying slowly

Right beneath her little feet
